Audience enjoying the Festival Art-cars, Derwent Entertainment Centre, People's Day

The event in the main auditorium (Works On Wheels) was just magic; a unique experience that had me spellbound. People who weren't able to attend yesterday will be kicking themselves for months to come. (Peoples Day Patron, 2006 Works Festival)

The Works Festival

The 2008 Works Festival will run from Thursday 15th of May to Sunday 25th of May. Click here to download our program brochure

We look forward to seeing Festival Patrons at People's Day at the Derwent Entertainment Centre of May 25th - proudly supported by our major sponsor Nyrstar.

The Works Festival is the City of Glenorchy's biennial, community celebration - a chance for local residents of all ages and background, to get creative, work with friends, meet people and of course - have fun!

The Works is a project of Glenorchy City Council. We develop the Festival every two years in partnership with a large range of community organisations and our generous public and private sponsors.

The Works is a late autumn Festival with a concentrated program of arts and cultural activities in May of the Festival year.

The Works is distinctive for its innovative programming, all of community approach and emphasis on direct community participation in the development and presentation of the Festival program.
