Glenorchy City Council is excited to announce that the ‘Plastic Free Places’ program has come to Tasmania! The FREE program works with our local food retailers as they adapt to a single-use plastic free future, ensuring Tassie remains clean and green. With the Tasmanian State Government announcing a proposed ban on some single-use plastic items, now is the perfect time to future-proof your business. Food retailers of Glenorchy – like cafes, bars, restaurants, kiosks & vans are all eligible for this fantastic program. Businesses will receive free tailored support on reducing single-use packaging, including money saving strategies, Instagram promotion, and signage recognising you as a sustainable business. If you, or anyone you know, own a food retail business, you can join today by visiting https://www.plasticfreeplacestas.org/join. You can also show your support by tagging your local café to join, and by following Plastic Free Places Tasmania on Facebook.
