Reflecting on some of the work Glenorchy City Council accomplished in 2022…

Waste:

  • Total waste received at Jackson St Landfill: 64,707 tonnes
  • Waste diverted at Jackson St Landfill: 5,007 tonnes
  • Kerbside waste collected: 7,408 tonnes
  • Kerbside FOGO: 4,4403 tonnes
  • Kerbside Recycling: 3,847 tonnes

MAC:

  • In 2022 Moonah Arts Centre has been visited by over 29,000 guests
  • Produced and presented 40 public events, with 1,542 tickets sold
  • Presented works from 385 exhibiting artists
  • Venue hired for 414 events & workshop by arts, community, and corporate groups.
  • 28% increase in venue bookings, compared to 2021.
  • 250,171 individuals saw MAC’s Ad on TV after MAC delivered a (grant supported) advertising campaign
  • Increased community engagement across Glenorchy with a series of Family Open Days – October’s Family Days engaged 1100 members of the community

Customer Service (excluding December):

  • Total customers served over the phone and at the counter – 55,215
  • Customer Service Requests created – 15,549
  • Incoming correspondence received and tasked – 24,225
  • Customer Satisfaction Score – 85.6% (From over 2131 responses)
  • Dogs registered – 7338 dogs registered since July
  • Parking Infringement issued – 7125
  • Car park patrols – 2840

Infrastructure, Engineering and Design:

  • Footpaths replaced : 8.71km
  • Roads resurfaced: 12.48km
  • New footpaths acquired: 9.53km
  • New stormwater property connections acquired: 337
  • New stormwater pipes acquired: 7.56km
  • New stormwater pits acquired: 370

Childcare:

  • Number of children attending the two childcare centres each week: 175
  • Number of nappies changed in 2022: 67,575

Development:

  • Food businesses inspected: 528
  • 337 certificates issued:1082
  • Number of building notifiable applications: 155
  • Number of plumbing permits: 133
  • Number of plumbing notifiable applications: 155

Capital Works:

  • Footpath renewal works at 28 locations / streets done
  • 10 Stormwater improvement projects completed
  • 2 Rural Road improvement projects done
  • 8 Road and Pedestrian Safety projects completed (incl. BlackSpot funded projects)
  • 2 Road rehabilitation projects completed
  • 1 bridge maintenance project completed
  • 28,000 m2 of road resealed. Approx. 3,388 tonnes of asphalt mix applied

Operations and Maintenance:

  • 2790 customer requests completed – includes roads, vegetation, facilities, urban services, parks and reserves, stormwater and facilities
  • 37 kms of fire trails maintained for 2022
  • 18878 stormwater pits on our register in total were maintained
  • 1626 klms of roads on our asset register were maintained
  • 2772 footpaths on our asset register were maintained
  • 9999 trees on our tree register

Miscellaneous:

  • 4 Citizenship Ceremonies with 276 new citizens
  • Delivered 56 HAPPY (Healthy Active Preventative Programs for Youth) mentoring programs at Montrose Bay High involving over 168 students
  • Enabled 9 community members to be trained as Mental Health First Aid Instructors in September to deliver MHFA across the Glenorchy community who have already delivered MHFA workshops with 30 people
  • Facilitated delivery of 35 Golden Years School for Seniors sessions
  • 500 people attended the Glenorchy ANZAC Day service
  • Over 19,000 people have participated in a broad range of cultural events, including religious activities, health, training, sports, playgroups and workshops at the Multicultural Hub
  • Over 1000 people registered on the Let’s Talk, Glenorchy engagement hub
