
Road Closures
This event will commence between 7:55 am to 8:10 am at three locations and affect:
- Brooker Highway at MyState Bank Arena (including Goodwood Road, Glenorchy) – (8:00 am start time)
- Cornelian Bay, Queens Walk, New Town – (8:10 am start time)
- Salamanca Place at Davey Street – (7:55 am start time)
- Evans Street
- Sandy Bay Road
The finish point for all races will be Wrest Point Casino. All roads will be re-opened by 10:00 am.
In this instance, there will be significant road closures between the period of 7:45 am to 9:00 am.
The Hobart waterfront and Battery Point will be isolated during this event. No traffic, unless of an emergency nature, will be permitted to cross over Davey Street and Sandy Bay Road along the event route.
On-duty police will make an informed decision about access in and out of the area for emergency situations. Police, traffic controllers and SES will be in attendance to manage traffic.
Tasmania Police wish to advise motorists that have to enter or exit the area to do so prior to the road closures or ensure your vehicle is outside the closed road area.
Some of the major disruptions will be:
- inability of delivery trucks, including heavy vehicles, to enter or exit this area;
- hotel patrons wishing to exit this area for the Hobart Airport or other trips; and
- workers on their way to or from work in this area.
The road closures will occur only when the participants are on or approaching that section of roadway, namely:
- 7:45 am to 8:40 am Brooker Highway from Strathaven Drive to Risdon Road – south bound lanes only;
- 7:45 am to 8:40 am Cornelian Bay and Queens Walk. This includes access to Marine Terrace, Rugby
Park, Selfs Point Road, and the Cemetery; - 7:45 am to 9:30 am Domain Highway, Lower Domain Road in the vicinity of Government House, Tasman Highway (left lane only for east bound traffic between Davies Avenue and Lower Domain Road), Tasman Highway (both lanes for west bound traffic between McVilly Drive and Davey Street/Brooker Avenue – traffic will be diverted onto Liverpool Street to access Davey Street from Brooker Highway) Davey Street (left lane only for west bound traffic from Brooker Avenue to St David’s Park). This includes access to the Hobart Waterfront and the Cenotaph area and will prevent exit or access from Hunter Street, Mures Car Park, Argyle Street, Elizabeth Street, Murray Street and Salamanca Place;
- 7:45 am to 9:30 am Salamanca Place, between Gladstone and Davey Street;
- 7:45 am to 10:00 am Sandy Bay Road from Davey Street to Drysdale Place, Sandy Bay (Note: This will prevent exit or access from Gladstone Street, Hampden Road, St Georges Terrace, Quayle Street, Osborne Street, Marieville Esplanade, Queen Street, King Street, Magnet Court, Princes Street, Russell Crescent, Ashfield Street and Sayer Court. North bound traffic will continue to flow.); and
- 7:45 am to 10:00 am Drysdale Place, Sandy Bay – left lane only.

Hansen Orchards 2.7 km Run
- The 2.7km Run starts opposite the Supreme Court steps in Salamanca Place.
- Start Time 7:55am
- This event is for children aged 12 or under.
- Adults are permitted in this event only for the purposes of accompanying their children.
Bulk Nutrients 7 km Run and Walk
- The 7 km Run & Walk start is at Cornelian Bay
- Start Time 8:10 am
- The 7 km Run & Walk start together at Cornelian Bay, adjacent to the playground. Parking is available at Cornelian Bay, however, please arrive early to avoid road closures.
- Please note, if you enter the 7 km Run, walking is allowed! but if you choose to enter the 7 km Walk, please walk in fairness to fellow participants.
- And when lining up to start, we ask that runners line up at the front and walkers at the back.
Raine & Horne 12 km Run
- Start Time 8:00 am
- Parking is available within the Arena.
- Walkers are not permitted in the 12 km Run. This is a RUNNING event.
- Short walk breaks are permitted. It is recommended that entrants in the 12km Run be at least 12 years of age on race day.
