Education and Care Services

‘Child Care Connections – Berriedale and Benjafield’ operate two long day care services offering education and care in both Berriedale and Moonah. We are approved to care for children from six weeks to five years of age.

Our services are supportive and inclusive for all children. Children engage in learning that promotes confident and creative individuals, successful lifelong learners, and active and informed members of the community.

Our learning programs are guided by the ‘Early Years Learning Framework – Belonging, Being and Becoming’ and the National Quality Standard (NQS). The curriculum is play-centred with a strength-based approach which enables the children to develop autonomy, responsibility and respect. Our learning spaces create an environment of joy, wonder and exploration.

Our services are approved and operate in accordance with the Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations and adhere to policies and procedures to ensure best practice.

We liaise with other sectors, local agencies and allied health professionals to support children’s learning and development. These collaborative partnerships also build educator knowledge, promoting community links and partnerships.

Educators continually reflect on their practices considering current and emerging information, standards and the needs of families and children who use the services.

Child Care Connections Vision

Our vision is to

  • be a family’s first choice for early childhood education and care in Glenorchy and the wider community.
  • provide vibrant and flexible environments that are welcoming spaces, which reflect the lives and identity of children and families participating in the service, responding to their interests and needs.
  • co-program with all children, respecting each child’s agency through valuing their voices and making them visible.
  • engage qualified, experienced educators who are deliberate, purposeful and thoughtful in their decisions and actions, and who are committed to ensuring quality learning outcomes for all children.

Our Philosophy

‘We believe that all children have the right to a quality early learning program that allows them to experience the wonder and joy of childhood. We believe early education is fundamental for future learning.’

The Service Philosophy reflects that all children in our care are at the heart of our practice. With genuine partnerships with our families, and the community, we provide stimulating learning programs and environments that support quality learning outcomes and for each child to develop to their full potential.

At Child Care Connections we believe children learn best when they feel safe, secure, valued and have a sense of belonging.

Family and Community Feedback

We encourage family and community feedback. This can be provided:

Glenorchy City Council Safeguarding Children and Young People Statement of Commitment

We are committed to the safety and wellbeing of children and young people while enabling their participation as valued members of our community.

We have zero tolerance to child abuse and harm.

Our people are obligated to prioritise the safety of the children they interact with in the performance of their role and to report conduct of concern.

We recognise the importance of child safety in the provision of quality community services.

All children who attend services, programs, events, and community spaces (including online environments) that are delivered, owned, contracted, or managed by Council, have the right to feel safe, be safe, and be heard.

We recognise our legal and moral responsibilities in keeping children and young people safe and have robust policies and procedures in place to meet this commitment that are aligned with the National Principles for Child Safe Organisations.

We want children to thrive, be safe, happy, and empowered.

We are dedicated to ensuring their views are listened to and respected, and they are given opportunities to contribute to how we plan and deliver our services that affect them.

We are committed to being a Child Safe Organisation.
