Roof replacement – Glenorchy Bus Mall

2 March 2025 - 2 March 2025

Glenorchy City Council is replacing the roof on shelters D and E in the Glenorchy Bus Mall.

The works are expected to be completed between 7:00 am – 5:00 pm this Sunday, 23 February 2025.

Metro has been notified of the works.

This schedule of works is dependent on fair weather conditions.

Barbeque shelter works – Roseneath Playground, Austins Ferry

24 February 2025 - 3 March 2025

Glenorchy City Council will be completing works to the shelter to Roseneath playground.

These works will include installing a BBQ and rotating the seats to allow for spacing between the seats and the newly installed BBQ.

During this time, access to the playground will still be possible, however visitors to the park will need to use the other shelter, outside the playground.

Our contractors BSH will have signage up on the fencing.

Boardwalk Extension – Windermere Bay – Curlew Parade, Claremont

12 February 2025 - 17 April 2025

Glenorchy City Council are constructing a new boardwalk.

The works will involve connecting a section of existing boardwalk at Windermere Bay to Faulkner’s Rivulet, a new footbridge across Faulkner’s Rivulet and a new path connection to Curlew Parade.

Council are also working with Derwent Estuary Program (DEP) to rehabilitate the surrounding saltmarsh.

The works are expected to take around 8 weeks, from mid-February 2025.

During construction, the southern end of the Windermere Bay Foreshore Reserve will be closed to the public, with temporary fencing provided by the contractor.

Berriedale Public Toilet Replacement project

10 February 2025 - 31 May 2025

Contractors are preparing to commence works for the Berriedale Public Toilet replacement project.

These works will take place at 1 Alcorso Drive, Berriedale from 7:00 am, Monday 10 February 2025.

Falkner Construction will be demolishing the existing public toilet and constructing a new facility in the same location.

The project is expected to be finished in May 2025, weather permitting, the public toilet will be completely closed to locals during this time.

The public will be informed about the closure, with possible alternate public toilet sites at Windermere Bay Reserve and Montrose Bay

Landfill works – Jackson Street Landfill

31 January 2025 - 31 May 2025

Glenorchy City Council contractors will be completing works at the Jackson Street Landfill for several weeks.

This will include extending the current landfill cell, weather permitting.

During this time there will be an increase in truck movements to the landfill and an increase of activity adjacent the current tip face.

Intersection Improvements – Anfield Street, Glenorchy / Grove Road, Glenorchy

13 January 2025 - 10 March 2025

Glenorchy City Council is upgrading the Anfield Street / Grove Road intersection in Glenorchy.

These works include:

– New kerb & channel and access ramps

– New concrete footpath and synthetic grass

– Asphalt pavement reseal

– Landscaping remedial works

– New signage and line marking

The works are scheduled to commence on Monday, 13 January 2025 and last for 7 weeks.

Minor delays of up to 15 minutes may occur in the area due to the works, weather permitting.

Works will be limited to the hours of 7:00 am to 6:00 pm, Monday to Friday.

Footpath Renewal – Milton Crescent, Moonah

4 November 2024 - 31 March 2025

As a part of the annual capital works program, Glenorchy City Council would like to inform you that the renewal works at Milton Crescent will start this week.

Both street sides will receive new sections of footpath and kerb & channel.

Please be advised that the construction time will be approximately until the end of March 2025, weather permitting.

Working hours are between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30 pm on weekdays.

Council apologises for the inconvenience this may cause during this time and requests all motorists and pedestrians obey all speed and advisory signs.

Road Rehabilitation Project at Ashbourne Grove

30 October 2024 - 30 June 2025

As a part of the annual capital works program, Glenorchy City Council is commencing the renewal works of Stage 2 at Ashbourne Grove in West Moonah on 30 October 2024.

Initial works are to renew the footpath and kerb & channel at the Ashbourne / Garden Grove intersection before works will continue towards Reiby Street.

Please be advised that the construction time will be approximately until the end of June 2025 for the whole project, weather permitting.

Working hours are between the hours of 7:30 am to 4:30pm on weekdays.

During the project we ask all residents, motorists and pedestrians to obey all speed and advisory signs.

Council acknowledges that the roadworks may be inconvenient and disruptive for some people and thank you for your understanding and support for this type of work.

Footpath Renewal Project at Junee Street, Chigwell

28 October 2024 - 28 February 2025

As part of the annual capital works program, Glenorchy City Council will be undertaking renewal works at Junee Street.  Both sides of the street will receive new sections of footpath and kerb & channel.

Please be advised that construction time will be approximately until the end of February 2025, weather permitting.

Working hours are between 7:30am-4:30pm weekdays.
